social media marketing news

Social media marketing continues to change the way we look at digital marketing as a whole on almost a weekly basis. With this communication platform offering new ways to interact with your audience and build a following, savvy marketers need to know the latest trends in the field.

We’re always coming across important social media marketing news as a direct result of our line of work, and we think it’s important to share what we come across with our partners. This week, we’re taking a look at some new happenings at Facebook and an update on the TikTok situation in the United States.

Facebook launched the Facebook Business Suite

Facebook Business Suite is a tool for small-business owners to centralize the control of their content management on Facebook and Instagram. That’s right. The tool that every social media marketer has been dreaming of finally exists.

With the Facebook Business Suite, marketers can now bring together Facebook and Instagram publishing, messaging and analytics under one dashboard.

Facebook announces upcoming augmented reality (AR) glasses

Facebook recently announced its new Project Aria, which are smart glasses that are designed to interact with augmented reality. These augmented reality glasses can help people perform everyday tasks more successfully and will also open up a world of opportunity for advertisers.

We’ll be sure to monitor this project as it develops to keep you updated.

The U.S. government is closing in on a TikTok deal

Due to concerns about Chinese ownership of TikTok and the security threats this presents to American privacy, the U.S. government recently announced it would issue a ban on all new downloads of the device to take effect on September 21.

However, the U.S. government has been working with the computing group Oracle to transition a takeover of the U.S. operations of TikTok. According to the president of the U.S., this deal would have the government’s approval, leaving TikTok alive and well in this country where it has surged in popularity.
