Three ways to shake up your stale digital healthcare marketing strategy

Did you know that 5% of all web searches are related to healthcare? Furthermore, did you know that patients who used search to find your services are 3 times more likely to book an appointment than someone who learns about your services by other means? What you should be getting out of these statistics is that it is of great importance that your website is visible online and engages its users.

If you feel like your website and digital marketing strategy have gone stale, it’s time to reevaluate and adjust your strategy. Take a look below for three ways you can shake up your stale digital marketing strategy.

  1. Get more active on social media — A common mistake many brands, including healthcare ones, make is using social media as just another advertising platform. While it makes sense to advertise on social media, this should be done more sparingly. Instead, use your social media to share useful, informative or entertaining content relevant to your audience’s interests.

Answer questions. Respond to comments and feedback. Take it further with live video Q&As, facility tours, staff stories and other methods of being more relatable.
  2. Use multimedia — It’s predicted that people will spend an average of 100 minutes per day watching online videos in 2021. You might be thinking that the majority of this is for entertainment purposes, and much of it is, but people want much more out of video than entertainment. People search on YouTube for advice, how-tos and other informative content.

Does your brand have helpful, engaging, informative videos? What about other content, such as infographics or images? Perhaps even a podcast?

Think about the ways you can leverage multimedia to increase engagement and reach more of your target audience online.
  3. Build a faster, more user-friendly website — Too many people make the mistake of thinking it’s enough to just build a website and attract a lot of visitors. Attracting visitors and keeping them engaged on your site takes more refined work. Your site needs to have a cultivated visitor journey. Your content needs to be easy to read. Your site needs to be fast, easy to navigate and mobile friendly.

If your website is failing to attract as many visitors as you (realistically) hope to achieve, then it may be a sign it needs an update.
