Tips for Creating a Compelling Landing Page for your PPC Ads

Most modern marketers are aware of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and how it can help deliver more qualified leads to your website who are likely to become customers. A PPC campaign can only be as successful as its landing pages though, and if your landing pages aren’t crafted to convert, you won’t see the results you want.

We use PPC as part of many of our comprehensive digital marketing strategies at Burg & Co. Because we want our campaigns to be successful, we emphasize creating great landing pages to help convert your visitors into qualified leads and customers. Below are a few tips you should check out if you want to make your landing pages more powerful.

Four tips for fine-tuning your landing page

  1. Write a captivating headline — A great headline can make or break your landing page. In about ten words or less, you should capture your reader’s interest and attention with an explosive and relevant headline. Something boring or generic can cause more people to bounce rather than convert.
  2. Emphasize value and benefits — In the main body of content, you need to be clear about what it is that you’re offering and emphasize its benefits and how they are valuable to the visitor. Use bullet points to highlight features.
  3. Include a powerful image — The brain processes an image much faster than it processes text. The image you choose will set the tone of your landing page. The emotional reaction that a visitor has to the image on your landing page can be the difference in clicking your CTA or backing out. Speaking of CTAs…
  4. Make a powerful CTA — The bottom of your landing page should include a call-to-action (CTA) that encourages a visitor to submit some information and convert. A CTA should include power action text that inspires the visitor to click through. Effective CTAs have a compelling design but should also be simple and clear.
