Think Beyond Google When it Comes to PPC Advertising

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is a form of advertising that displays your ad at the top of organic search results in search engines. Many businesses use PPC because it increases brand awareness and contributes to an increase of qualified leads and customers.

The most widely used search engine in the world is Google, so marketers focus most of their PPC efforts on Google. However, there are other platforms for PPC too that you could be using. It all depends on your target audience, your budget and your goals.

Below are a few other platforms you should consider using as part of your PPC campaign:

Facebook advertising

While Facebook’s advertising is not explicitly called PPC, it operates in the same way. There are more than 2 billion Facebook users in the world, so it’s likely that some of your target audience can be found on Facebook.

Bing PPC

Bing PPC operates very similarly to Google Ads but, of course, using Bing instead of Google. You bid on keywords to display ads at the top of results for pages found using these keywords. Bing is the second most popular search engine in the world, so it may be worth your efforts to advertise on it.

Youtube advertising

Youtube ads aren’t exactly PPC because they are sold at a fixed rate, but they can be thought of as part of your PPC campaign. You can portion part of your PPC budget for Youtube ads that can target people whose interests are relevant to the product or service you’re offering.

Twitter Ads

Twitter ads are sold to the highest bidders based on interests, geotargeting parameters and other specifications you get to control. More than 300 million people are active on Twitter and this number continues to grow. You should invest part of your PPC efforts in Twitter if your target audience is active on it.

Amazon Advertising

Like everything else on this list except for Youtube, Amazon ads are sold on a pay-per-click basis based on keywords you choose to bid on or products similar to what you offer. You’ll want to seriously consider Amazon as an advertising option because it is now the third most popular web advertising platform in the world. Only Facebook and Google rank higher.
